Arguably one of the safest seats in Congress, Portland's CD3 is held by career politician, Representative Earl Blumenauer, who has amassed a great fortune of nearly 7 million dollars without ever working outside of elected office. Quite an accomplishment, when you consider he rarely even breaks a sweat to actually campaign. To date Congressman Blumenauer has refused to agree to debate any of his GOP Congressional opponents since being elected to Congress in 1997.
In 2010 Congressman Blumenauer was caught on camera calling anti-ObamaCare demonstrators "Weasels" before quite literally running away from a young man asking him questions about his record in Congress.

This Ballotpedia page tells Portlanders everything they should know about their Congressman Blumenauer, who earns just $174K per year, yet after 17 years as their Representative, Earl is apparently worth nearly 7 million dollars. That makes this liberal Washington insider a secret member of the richest 1% of Americans. Portland voters have unwittingly enabled Congressman Blumenauer to enrich himself with millions, while forcing Oregonians to sacrifice millions of precious life hours stuck in traffic on small outdated narrow highways.
Maybe this year, Portlanders will grant Earl a new title as "Former Congressman Earl Blumenauer" and finally afford him the opportunity to learn what it is like to earn money the old fashioned way, outside of elected office.
